When people talk about how a certain technological advance is “not going away”, I think about all the times that this has actually happened. Civilian supersonic flight is one example that comes to mind.

Pavement that doesn’t crack and crater within fifty (or 500) years might be another example.

These technologies still exist, but they are not widely used. For economic and political reasons.

The same may be true of whatever technology you are trying to force down my throat.

@mio my understanding is that it is not economical in present day urban environments. Takes forever to dry, and then you are going to dig it up again soon anyway when you lay down some new pipes or electrical lines, etc.
