@liamoc@jonmsterling Based on what I heard, I guess some of them are supervising students to supervise LLM.
For students, those llm providers often provide free plans. So there is no financial aspect to consider immediately, but there are still moral, social, and environmental impacts to consider. My group member uploaded a report with hallucinations mixed with facts and I was not too happy.
@liamoc I just explained a similar idea to my family working in physics. I explained to her, how llms work and why llms are not concerned with truth , without knowing this paper. Thank you for sharing this paper

dreaded bots@ah@liamoc I can at most accept their usage in build scripts collections (like homebrew-core and homebrew-cask). Apart from build scripts collections, they are going to make everything worse and worse every day.

@ah@liamoc Today I saw a post from Mozilla promoting claude products, saying that Claude products helped firefox development. I don't like Claude infecting everything. I remember I just saw Apple accidentally leaked their claude md file. How are llm usages in the browsers engines? webkit firefox chromium
@liamoc I am personally tired of different browsers. Back to safari: apple passwords popup; apple hide my email popup.. I just want a clean safari without apple services
@liamoc This is related to my experience. Similar situation happened when there were some education system level failures. I was in a place where some students didn't want the current major but choosing a different major was impossible. Some other students seemed don't want any study but staying in university was beneficial to them for other reasons. No one wanted to turn up and when people did turn up, people were minding their own businesses.
